Isabella Ferrari won the lone match of the afternoon for the Susquehanna University Women's Tennis team as the River Hawks dropped an 8-1 decision to Lycoming College Wednesday afternoon in Williamsport.

Ferrari won a 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 6 singles for Susquehanna (2-1) as the River Hawks dropped the first match of the season after posting wins in the first two matches.

Julia Spear dropped a pair of close matches as she fell in the tie breaker at No. 4 singles and surrendered an 8-4 decision with doubles partner Cassey Fox at No. 2 doubles.

The Warriors (2-2) won all three doubles matches to take the early lead and then scored 6-2, 6-1 wins at both No. 1 and No. 2 singles and also posted straight sets wins at No. 3, 4 and 5 singles before Ferrari poster her win at No. 6 singles.

The River Hawks return to action Saturday with the first home match of the season as Susquehanna hosts Misericordia at noon on the James Garret Sports Center Courts.
