Women's Tennis Falls in Home Opener

Linsey Sipple posted a win at No. 1 singles with strong ground stroke play winning by a score of 6-3, 6-2 for the Susquehanna University Women's Tennis team. The River Hawks, however, dropped a 7-2 decision to Misericordia University Saturday afternoon in the first home match of the season on the James Garrett Sports Center Courts in Selinsgrove.

Misericordia swept the doubles competition before Sipple was able to score her victory at No. 1 singles.  Amy Jennings added a 1-6, 6-3 (10-4) in at No. 6 singles for the other River Hawks victory.

Julia Spear and Laura Long dropped a tie breaker decision at No. 3 doubles and Abby Ransom lost a tough three-set decision at No. 2 singles for Susquehanna.

The River Hawks will be home against Saturday hosting Alvernia in a 1 p.m. match.
