Stam Sets SU Record; Three Others Compete at Swarthmore Meet

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Senior Kristin Stam (Wellsboro,
Pa./Wellsboro Area) set a Susquehanna record in the long
jump at Monday’s Swarthmore Last Chance Meet while three
other Crusader track & field athletes also competed at the
meet.
Stam set a record in the long jump with a mark of 17-08.75 (5.40m),
easily surpassing the previous mark of 17-06.75 (5.35m) set by
Robin O’Hara in 2008. It also bested her previous career-best
mark of 5.13m
She also competed in the triple jump and took seventh overall with
a jump of 36-00.25, another PR.
Freshman Laura Alleva (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley)
ran in the 800 meter and finished in 2:21.78 while Brooke
Linders (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) was seventh
overall in the 400 meter dash (1:00.16).
Senior Ian Quinlan (Eagle View,
Pa./Methacton/Lehigh), meanwhile, ran the 5,000m and
finished with a time of 14:59.36, easily surpassing his previous
outdoor PR of 15:07.53 and is third all-time in SU history.
