Women’s T&F Concludes Day One of Championship

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Susquehanna women's track & field team finished day of the Landmark Conference championship meet in third place.

The Crusaders finished the day with 37 points and trail Moravian (81) and Elizabethtown (64).

In the first track event of the day, Abby Taylor and Megan Wright took sixth and seventh respectively in the 10,000 meter run with times of 40:31.64 and 40:42.94. It marked Taylor's first collegiate 10,000 meter race while Wright set a personal best.

In the 100m dash prelims, Jasmine Mitchell posted the third-fastest time of the day, 12.53. Mitchell placed eighth in the 200m dash with a time of 26.85 to qualify for Sunday's final in the event while in the 400m prelims, Hannah Perkins was sixth (1:01.68) to also advance to Sunday's final.

Ashley West won the 1500m run with her championship meet record time of 4:35.41. Kailyn Reilly and Amy Kaschak were fifth and sixth with times of 4:51.47 and 4:52.96, respectively, with Reilly's time marking a personal best.

advanced to Sunday's 100m hurdle finals with a prelim time of 16.75 on Saturday.

In the field events, Manouchka Paulemont took third in the long jump with a mark of 4.90m – matching her personal best – while teammate Sarah Rinaldi took 10th (4.39m).

In the discus, Renea Broscious's throw of 31.80m earned her fifth overall and marked a career best. Broscious later went on to finish ninth in the hammer throw with a mark of 35.60m.

Finally, Hayley Painter's height of 2.74m in the pole vault placed her fourth overall.

The final day of the championship meet gets underway Sunday morning.
