Four Women Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Four members of the Susquehanna women's track & field team have been named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region Team.

Junior Gabby Alguire (javelin), junior Amy Kaschak (steeplechase) and senior Ashley West (800m, 1500m) picked up All-Region recognition.

To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top five of an individual event in his/her region or be part of a top-three relay team.

Alguire is making her third-straight appearance at the NCAA Division III Outdoor championship meet. She is currently ranked first in the nation among all Division III athletes with her throw of 47.42m. Earlier this month, Alguire claimed her third Landmark Conference javelin title.

Kaschak, meanwhile, picks up her first career outdoor track & field All-Region honor after placing fifth in the region in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:19.24, set on May 16. Her time is third-best in program history.

Finally, West picked up All-Region recognition in both the 800 and 1500 meter runs. Entering this weekend, West is 18th in 800m (2:10.75) and 21st in the 1500m (4:32.26). She will compete in both events at this weekend's NCAA championship meet.
