Alguire, Kaschak and the Women’s Team earn National Academic Honors

Seniors Gabrielle Alguire and Amy Kaschak as well as the entire Susquehanna University Women's Track and Field team were honored recently by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as the individuals were selected to the National All-Academic squad and the team earned USTFCCCA team academic accolades.

In order to be selected to the national honor, an athlete must have compiled at least a 3.30 grade point average (4.0 scale) and either competed at the NCAA Division III National Championship meet or finished among the top 50 for an individual event in the final national rankings. The team honor is designated for those universities that maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average.

Alguire finished the year as the top-ranked javelin thrower in the nation by five feet with a throw of 155' 4" in the season-opening Jim Taylor Invitational at Susquehanna. Kaschak was ranked 35th in the country in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with her Landmark Championship record time of 11:08.82.
