READING, Pa. – An all-around solid effort led the Susquehanna women’s volleyball team to a 3-1 win at Penn State-Berks on Wednesday night in Reading.
The Crusaders (22-11) won 25-18, 20-25, 25-17 and 25-21 as they continue to prepare for their Landmark semifinal match on Nov. 6.
Three SU players reached double-digit kill totals, led by senior Lindsey Jankiewicz’s (Easton, Pa./Freedom) 15. Kaylee Monga (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) added 14 and Emily Carson Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) finished with 13 to go along with nine digs, thus falling just one dig shy of a double-double.
Kelly O’Brien (Mastic, N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) led her squad with 20 digs while Shona St. Angelo (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) had a team-best 26 assists. Joining her with a double-digit assist total was Samantha Adler (Montville, N.J./Montville Twp.) with 14. Adler also led all players with four service aces and contributed six digs, as well.
Only one PSU-Berks player finished with more than 10 kills and no player recorded a service ace against the SU backline.
