Women’s Volleyball Receives Academic Honor

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Susquehanna women’s volleyball team was named a recipient of the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 season. The Crusaders were one of a record-breaking 533 institutions to earn the honor.

The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.30 or higher. The 533 institutions broke the previous record of 481, which came during the 2010-11 year.

SU’s women’s volleyball squad boasted a cumulative team GPA of 3.41 last year.
