SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Susquehanna's volleyball squad lost to Swarthmore 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Swarthmore Quad Match.

SU (15-15) also had matches against Landmark Conference opponent Scranton (W, 3-0) and Richard Stockton (L, 0-3). Against Scranton, senior Kate Reese (Wellsboro, Pa. / Wellsboro Area) surpassed the 1,000 career dig mark.

Swarthmore (19-6) won the first two sets 25-15 and 25-19. The Crusaders scratched out a 25-23 win forcing a tough played fourth set that Swarthmore won 25-22.

Against the Garnet, junior Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J. / James Caldwell) registered 12 kills and 22 digs. Reese recorded 23 digs for the Crusaders.

Freshman Julia Caruso (Collegeville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) had 19 assists and 11 digs. Junior Samantha Adler (Montville, N.J. / Montville Twp.)  chipped in with 10 assists and six digs. Freshman Hayley Dunkel (Pottsville, Pa. / Pottsville) recorded eight kills and four digs. Junior Kaylee Monga (Rockaway, N.J. / Morris Knolls) added seven kills.

Sophomore Amanda Miles (New Cumberland, Pa. / Cedar Cliff) and junior Dana Kruetzer (Flemington, N.J. / Hunterdon Central Regional) both had seven digs apiece.

SU hosts Marywood on Tuesday, Oct. 25 for Pink Out Night and York (Pa.) on Wednesday, Oct. 26 for Senior Night honoring its two senior members Reese and Natalie Cicioni (Frackville, Pa. / North Schuylkill).
