SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna junior outside and middle hitter Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J. / James Caldwell) and senior defensive specialist Kate Reese (Wellsboro, Pa. / Wellsboro Area) are climbing up the volleyball career record books in kills and digs, respectively.
Carson has recorded exactly 1,000 kills, a feat that only seven other players in SU volleyball history have accomplished. She reached this mark over the past weekend, playing in the Birmingham Southern Classic Tournament in Alabama.
Reese has 1,158 career digs which ranks her eighth all-time. She reached the 1,000 career digs milestone on October 22 against Landmark Conference foe Scranton while playing in the Swarthmore Quad Match.
SU earned the No. 2 seed this season after going 5-1 in conference play. They will play in the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 5.
