Carson, Monga, SU Volleyball Coaching Staff Earn All-League Status

MADISON, N.J. – Susquehanna juniors Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) and Kaylee Monga (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) were named to the All-Landmark Conference Team and their head coach Kuuipo Tom and his staff were named the conference's Coaching Staff of the Year.

Carson was a First-Team selection while Monga was named to the Second Team. This marks Carson's third-straight time on an all-league team while it's Monga's second-consecutive time as an all-league honoree. This is Tom's second time being named the Coaching Staff of the Year.

Carson, an outside/middle hitter, led the team in kills (461), kills per set (3.52) and attack percentage (.254). She was also second in service aces (26), blocks (92) and digs (389). Her 461 kills were good for second in the conference as were her 4.14 points per set average.

The junior surpassed the 1,000 kill mark the weekend before the Landmark Conference Tournament got underway and now has 1,032 for her career.

Monga, meanwhile, had a breakout season. She was a force on the net, racking up a team-high 133 blocks (22 solo). She also had 196 kills, the second-highest total on the team, to go along with 16 service aces and 56 digs.

Tom and his staff led the Crusaders to a 19-19 overall record, including a 5-1 Landmark Conference record that earned them the No. 2 seed for the third-straight season. SU rallied from a 3-12 start to finish the year with a 16-7 record.
