Academic Award for SU Volleyball Squad

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Susquehanna women’s volleyball team has received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2010-11 academic year. This marks the second straight year the team has won the award.

The award honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that display excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.30. Following the 2010 fall season, eight SU volleyball players were named to the Landmark Conference’s Fall Academic Honor Roll for recording a GPA of at least 3.20.

The Crusaders were one of 88 Division III volleyball programs to earn the honor after posting a team GPA of 3.36 In total, 478 institutions (collegiate and high school) were recognized, the highest number since the honor was first awarded in 1992-93.
