Volleyball Slated to Finish Second in Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md. – Susquehanna’s volleyball team was picked to finish second in the 2012 Landmark Conference Preseason Poll released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Crusaders received 41 points including one first place vote. Reigning champion Juniata was picked to repeat, gaining 60 points and six first place tallies.

Catholic came in third with 38 points followed by Moravian with 27. Scranton claimed the fifth spot with 22 points and Goucher and Merchant Marine garnered 17 and 12 points, respectively.

SU returns eight players from a year ago including All-Conference selections Emily Carson and Kaylee Monga. Head coach Kuuipo Tom is on the sidelines for his 10th season.

The Crusaders open the 2012 campaign this weekend at the Haverford College Invitational.
