BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In the first two matches of a six-match weekend, the Susquehanna volleyball squad suffered two losses at the Crossover Tournament, hosted by Moravian.

SU (3-7) opened the evening with a 3-0 loss to Messiah and then dropped a marathon, 3-2 decision to Elizabethtown.  Susquehanna lost 20-25, 17-25, 19-25 to the Falcons and fell 23-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-22, 11-25 to the Blue Jays.

Against Messiah (7-2) no player had more than four kills. Morgan Whiteman (Camp Hill, Pa./Trinity) led the team with seven digs while Hayley Dunkel (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Area) picked up four kills and three block assists. As a team, the Crusader had just a .094 attacking percentage.

The match against the Blue Jays was much more competitive as it took more than two hours for Elizabethtown to put the match away. Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) picked up 20 kills to go along with 26 digs, four combined blocks and three assists. Dana Kreutzer (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) picked up a season-best 38 digs and Whiteman chipped in with four service aces and 17 digs.

The Crusaders will now compete in the two-day Franklin & Marshall Scramble Tournament from Saturday-Sunday with two matches each day.
