SELINSGROVE, Pa. – In the final home match of the regular season, the Susquehanna women's volleyball team defeated visiting Lancaster Bible 3-0 on Wednesday night. With the win, SU improves to 23-8 on the season, including a perfect 10-0 in home matches.
The Crusaders won in straight sets, 25-6, 25-11, 25-17 over the Chargers (12-21).
Susquehanna hit for an impressive .353 attack percentage as a team. Hayley Dunkel (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Area) and Morgan Whiteman (Camp Hill, Pa./Trinity) each registered 10 kills with Whiteman also adding two service aces and three digs. Maggie O'Hearn (Mountville, Pa./Hempfield) again led all players with 32 assists and Sarah Paluck (Nesquehoning, Pa./Tamaqua Area) notched 19 digs.
SU had six block assists on the night, led by two from Rachel Wherry (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock), who also added three kills. Erin Byrne (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch) had a match-high five service aces to go along with her eight kills.
The Crusaders hit the road on Saturday, Oct. 26 to take part in the PSU-Abington Tournament.
