LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Susquehanna women's volleyball team has received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year.
The award, which dates back to the 1992-93 academic year, honors academic excellence by teams that have a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.30 or higher over both semesters. The Crusaders finished the year with a team GPA of 3.41 and had three players named to the 2013 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll for recording a GPA of at least 3.20.
In total, 676 teams from all collegiate divisions and high school competition earned the distinction, including two fellow Landmark Conference institutions in Moravian College and the University of Scranton.
The 676 recipients of the team academic award is the highest total in its history and represents a significant increase from the 305 teams recognized only a decade ago. For more information on the award and a complete list of recipients, click here.
