Volleyball Selected Second in Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md. – The Susquehanna women's volleyball team has been voted second in the 2014 Landmark Conference Preseason Poll, released Thursday morning.

Susquehanna received 52 points and one first-place vote, trailing only seven-time defending champion Juniata (70 points, seven first-place votes). In third place was The Catholic University of America (31 points), followed by first-year conference member Elizabethtown (30), Scranton (27), Moravian (25), Goucher (14) and USMMA (7).

The 2013 Crusaders went 29-9, 4-1 (Landmark) without a single senior on the roster and advanced to the Landmark championship match for the fifth time in seven years. SU also boasted the Specialist of the Year in junior Sarah Paluck (Nesquehoning, Pa./Tamaqua Area) and the 2013 Rookie of the Year in Erin Byrne (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch).

Susquehanna opens the season on Aug. 30-31 at the Haverford Invitational where the team will face #22 University of Massachusetts – Boston, Stevenson, Widener and Haverford.
