Susquehanna Volleyball Selected Second in Preseason Poll

Towson, Md. – The Susquehanna women's volleyball team has been voted second in the 2015 Landmark Conference Preseason Poll released Monday morning.

Susquehanna received 52 points with one first-place vote, trailing only eight-time defending champion Juniata (70 points, seven first-place votes). In third place was Scranton (33 points), Moravian (29 points), Catholic (26 points), Elizabethtown (21 points), Goucher (14), and USMMA (7 points).
The 2014 Crusaders went 30-9, including a 6-1 mark in Landmark play. Head coach Kuuipo Tom, enters his 13th season at the helm of the volleyball program and has 12 players returning, including five starters. Four of the five starters were all-conference selections last year.
 
Susquehanna's top attacker, junior Erin Byrne (San Diego, Ca. / Scripps Ranch, returns after finishing the 2014 season ranked third in the conference with 448 total points and fourth in kills with 352. Junior setter Maggie O'Hearn (Mountville, Pa. / Hempfield) returns to guide the offense after ranking second in the conference last fall with 1,092 assists.
 
After ranking first in the conference in digs (666) and in digs per set (5.05), Sarah Paluck returns to Susquehanna for her senior year.
 
SU lost conference block assist leader Hayley Dunkel to graduation last year after accumulating 84 block assists and 103 total blocks.
