Crusader Volleyball Ends Weekend with Two Victories

POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Susquehanna volleyball team rebounded from a loss to No. 18 Clarkson by winning both of its Sunday matches on the final day of Clarkson's Golden Knight Invitational.

SU (16-8) opened with a straight-set win over SUNY Canton (25-11, 25-15, 25-21). Three players had nine kills, including Erin Byrne who also added 17 digs, seven assists and three service aces. Maggie O'Hearn finished with 18 assists and four digs and Sarah Paluck tallied 27 digs. Leana Carvin added five kills and four block assists.

The Crusaders concluded the tournament with a 3-1 victory against Muhlenberg. Carvin had a solid all-around effort with 11 kills, three service aces, five digs and four more block assists. Bryne added 12 more kills and 18 digs while Paluck led the team with her 28 digs. O'Hearn finished with 23 assists against the Mules to go along with three kills and three block assists.

Susquehanna returns to action on Sept. 17 with two Landmark Conference matches against USMMA and Scranton. Juniata College will serve as the host for the weekend round robin tournament.
