Volleyball Picked to Finish Second in Landmark

TOWSON, Md. – The Susquehanna volleyball team has been picked to finish second in the Landmark Conference Preseason Poll, released Wednesday.

The River Hawks received 45 points and one first-place vote behind Juniata (60 points, 6 first-place votes) which won the 2015 Landmark Conference title. The Catholic University of America is third (31 points) while Scranton is fourth (28 points), Moravian fifth (24), Elizabethtown sixth (17) and Goucher seventh (12).

SU finished the 2015 season with an overall record of 26-10 with a second-place finish in the Landmark Conference Championship. Erin Byrne, a 2015 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) DIII All-American, returns for her senior season along with Maggie O'Hearn and Marykate Sherkness who both earned spots on the 2015 All-Landmark Conference Second-Team.

Susquehanna, which received points in the AVCA Preseason Poll, travels to Colorado Springs, Colo. to open its season on September 3 against Lewis & Clark at the Colorado College Classic.
