Fourth-Straight Win for Volleyball

QUICK HIT: The Susquehanna women's volleyball team won its fourth-straight game with a 3-0 win at Penn State Altoona on Friday night.

TEAM RECORDS: Susquehanna improves to 21-5 overall while Penn State Harrisburg is 7-12 on the season. SU won 25-13, 25-23, 25-16.

DID YOU KNOW? Friday's win marks the fourth win-streak of at least four games for the River Hawks this season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Erin Byrne led all players with 12 kills. Julie Kreutzer and Lindsey Pugh had 12 assists apiece with Maggie O'Hearn adding 11. Caroline Beohm added 12 digs to go along with three service aces. Morgan Lowe finished with nine kills, two assists two service aces and three digs.

SET ONE: SU jumped out to a 6-2 lead and the River Hawks took their first double-digit lead (18-8) on a Penn State attack error. Penn State was narrowly edged 7-5 over the remainder of the set for the 25-13 Susquehanna win.

SET TWO: SU jumped out to a 6-1 lead before the Lions tied the game at 12. The set was tied four times before Penn State took a 22-20 edge. An attack error allowed Susquehanna to tie the set at 23 and back-to-back attack errors by the Lions handed SU the win.

GAME WINNER: Susquehanna led from start to finish in the decisive third set. The River Hawks held a 21-13 lead and gave up only three points over the remainder of the set and the match was clinched on yet another Penn State attack error.

UP NEXT: Susquehanna remains on the road to face Catholic and Goucher on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 1:30 and 4 p.m., respectively.
