Five SU Volleyball Players Named All-Landmark Conference

TOWSON, Md. – The Susquehanna volleyball team had five players selected to All-Landmark Conference Teams, announced Tuesday. The River Hawks had two players named to the First Team and three to the Second Team.

Senior right-side hitter Erin Byrne and junior outside hitter Morgan Lowe were picked for the First Team while senior middle Leana Carvin, senior setter Maggie O'Hearn and freshman libero Caroline Beohm were named to the Second Team.

Byrne makes her fourth appearance on the All-Conference First Team. This season, she leads the team in attack percentage (.331) and is second on the team in kills (349) and blocks (66). Byrne has a 2.79 kills per set average, 68 assists and 61 digs this season.

Lowe leads the team in kills (402), kills per set (3.27) and total attempts (1164). She has a hitting percentage of .242, 38 service aces, 275 digs, 45 blocks and 19 assists.

This is Carvin's first All-Landmark Conference honor. The senior leads the team in blocks (94) – 11 solo – and also has 180 kills this season, a .211 hitting percentage, 10 assists, nine service aces and 58 digs.

O'Hearn makes the All-Landmark Second Team for the third year in a row. The setter has 1,173 assists for 9.94 assists per game to go along with 93 kills, 310 digs and 39 blocks. O'Hearn set the program record in assists this year with a career total of 4,705 surpassing the previous record holder by 957 assists.

Beohm earns her first All-Landmark recognition with a team-high 516 digs and a receiving percentage of .941. She is averaging 4.06 digs per set and adds 43 assists and 31 service aces.

The River Hawks are 31-7 on the season with the 31 victories a program record. They advanced to the Landmark Conference championship match where they fell 3-0 to Juniata. Susquehanna earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and will take on Clarkson in the first round on Friday, November 11. SUNY Brockport will serve as the host institution for the first through third rounds.
