After and impressive finish to the 2016 season with its first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament, the Susquehanna University Volleyball team finds itself in the national spotlight with a mention in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) preseason Top 25 poll released this week.
The River Hawks are listed in the group of teams just outside of the Top 25 in the also receiving votes section of the poll.
Susquehanna garnered five votes in the poll. The list of teams in the poll will be familiar to the River Hawks as 10 opponents on the 2017 schedule appear in the first poll of the season including Mary Washington (No. 10), Juniata (No. 13) and Eastern (No. 16). Randolph-Macon, Brockport, Stevenson, Johns Hopkins, UMass-Boston, Carnegie-Mellon and Johnson and Wales are all listed in the receiving votes section of the poll.
The River Hawks open the 2017 season in Texas at the Mary Hardin Baylor Tournament September 1-2 and will face UMass-Boston in the first match of the season.
