Morgan Lowe recorded 27 kills and committed just one attack error with 50 attempts for an attack percentage of .520 as she led the Susquehanna University Volleyball team to a pair of convincing victories over Catholic University and Goucher College in the first round of Landmark Conference play Saturday afternoon in Scranton.
Lowe finished with 13 kills and a .448 attack percentage for Susquehanna (10-8 overall, 2-0 Landmark) in the 3-0 win over Catholic (1-10, 2-2) and followed that up with a 14-kill .619 attack performance in a 3-0 win over Goucher (3-11, 0-1).
The win over Catholic came by set scores of 25-19, 27-25 and 25-19 while the three-set win over Goucher was 25-17, 25-17 and 25-18.
Against Catholic, Natalie Arm chipped in 12 kills, Helen Forman added 39 assists and Caroline Beohm led the defense and serving with 17 digs and two aces. Forman added eight digs and Lindsey Pugh recorded 11 digs.
In the Goucher match, Hannah Lyons and Tara Mahoney had seven kills each and Forman handed out 26 assists. Beohm had 11 digs, Lizzie Herestofa added eight digs while Kasey Bost and Lyons each served a pair of aces for the River Hawks.
Up next for Susquehanna is a non-conference match at Gettysburg at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
