Senior Morgan Lowe led the Susquehanna University Volleyball team with 17 kills and also had 14 digs for her 10th double-double of the season as the River Hawks came from behind to post a 3-1 victory over Gettysburg College Wednesday night in Gettysburg.
Susquehanna (11-8) dropped the first set25-21 but rebounded to win the next three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-12 and 25-19 for the win. Gettysburg (16-2) dropped just its second match of the season with the loss.
Lowe and freshman Sydney Portale led the attack with Lowe's 17 kills while Portale added 14. Lowe finished with a .348 attack percentage and Portale hit for a .367 average.
Senior Julie Kreutzer haded out a team-leading 29 assists while Helen Forman added 12 assists. Caroline Beohm led the defense with 19 digs while Lowe and Kasey Bost each had 14 and Lizzie Herestofa added 11 for the River Hawks. Tara Mahoney had five blocks and Hannah Lyons added nine kills and four blocks.
The River Hawks compete next with a tri-match Saturday at Messiah. Susquehanna will face Marymount at 1 p.m. and Messiah in the 3 p.m. match.
