MADISON, N.J. – For the second week in a row and the third time this season, Susquehanna senior women’s cross country runner Alycia Woodruff (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) was named the Landmark Conference Female Runner of the Week.
Woodruff and the rest of the Crusader cross country team competed at the Carnegie Melon Mideast Regional on Saturday where Woodruff finished the 6k course in a time of 23:26, the top time of any SU runner. Her time is the fastest to date in the Landmark Conference this season and placed her 12th of 178 runners at the event.
Susquehanna as a team earned the seventh spot out of a pool of 14 teams that included nationally-ranked squads from Haverford, Case Western and Oberlin.
Earlier this season, Woodruff set a personal-best in the 5k at the Flat Land Invitational on Sept. 18 with her time of 19:16.33 on a course that was over 5,000 meters.
The Crusaders are back in action on Oct. 16 when they compete in the Gettysburg Invitational starting at 11 a.m.
