Women’s Cross Country Wins Lock Haven Invite

THE QUICK STORY: The Susquehanna women's cross country team won the Lock Haven XC Invitational on Saturday morning.

THE FIRST TIME SINCE…SU's outright win was its first team victory in a 6k race since capturing the 2010 Landmark Conference title.

The River Hawks took first out of 18 teams with 78 points, just one point ahead of Penn State Club which finished with 79 points. The third-place team was nearly 30 points behind SU as Lock Haven was third with 106 points.

AWARD WINNERS: Amy Kaschak, Megan Wright and Kailyn Reilly all brought home individual hardware by placing in the top 15 in the 206-runner field. Kaschak was seventh with a time of 22:53.60 with Wright in 11th (23:01.80) and Reilly 15th (23:06.20).

PERSONAL BESTS: Nine SU runners set personal bests on the course. Among those were Wright and Reilly. The others were Erin Reese (23:10.10), Hannah Stauffer (23:50.50), Emily Leboffe (24:13.60), Rachel Daley (24:45.30), Emily Eck (25:43.90), Katherine Mayer (26:04.60) and Kirsten Hatton (26:14.80).

TOP 20: In all, the River Hawks put four runners in the top 20 with Reese 18th.

UP NEXT: Susquehanna travels to the DeSales Invitational on Oct. 8.
