Women’s Cross Country Competes at DeSales Invite

QUICK HIT: The Susquehanna women's cross country team took ninth out of 35 teams at Saturday's DeSales Invitational.

TEAM WINNER: Dickinson took the team title with 54 points. The River Hawks tallied 253 points en route to their ninth-place finish.

SU'S TOP FINISHER: First across the finish for SU was Amy Kaschak whose time of 23:03 placed her 23rd overall.

OTHER FINISHERS: Freshman Erin Reese was next, posting a time of 23:51 to earn 43rd in the 255-runner field. She was followed by Hannah Stauffer (24:16), Kailyn Reilly (24:31), Rachel Daley (24:39), Megan Wright (24:43) and Seema Tailor (26:48).

THE SUB-VARSITY RACE: In the 6k sub-varsity race, Emily Eck posted a time of 26:21 with Katherine Mayer just seven seconds behind (26:28). Kirsten Hatton crossed the finish in 26:49 and was followed by Jillian Batten (27:42).

PERSONAL-BEST: Daley was the only runner to set a personal best on the course on Saturday.

INDIVIDUAL WINNER: Muhlenberg's Jamie Pacilio won the individual title with her time of 22:01.

WHAT'S NEXT: The team competes at the Gettysburg Cross Country Invitational on Oct. 15.
