Women’s Cross Country Win Gettysburg Invite

THE MAIN STORY: The Susquehanna women's cross country team won its second meet of the year, taking home first at Saturday's Gettysburg Invitational.

TEAM SCORE: SU won with 50 points, easily ahead of second-place Gettysburg which finished with 84 points. Landmark Conference opponent Juniata finished seventh in the 25-team field.

QUICK HIT: The River Hawks boasted three runners in the top 10 and five in the top 20.

TOP FINISHER: Amy Kaschak was SU's top finisher, taking fourth overall with a 6k time of 23:00.3.

REMAINING TOP SEVEN: Kailyn Reilly was sixth overall with her time of 23:17.7 and was followed by Megan Wright, whose time of 23:31.8 placed her ninth.

Hannah Stauffer crossed the finish in 24:04.8 to earn 14th with Erin Reese's time of 24:07.4 good for 17th. Rounding out the top seven finishers for SU were Rachel Daley (24:39.5) and Katherine Mayer (26:26.6).

OTHER FINISHERS: Seema Tailor posted a time of 26:34.6 and Emily Eck went 26:49.1. Kirsten Hatton went 27:18.3, Keirnan Dougherty finished in 27:58.4 and Jillian Batten crossed in 28:10.8.

DID YOU KNOW: SU has now won two meets this season; on Sept. 24, the River Hawks won the Lock Haven Invitational.
